The Red Sea -1930 km. long and 270,000 km2. – bordered by Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen and Djibouti. Mount Sinai,; 2285 m., is the highest peak. Its climate is equatorial with temperatures ranging between 22° C and 32° C. Water temperatures range between 18° C and 21° C in winter, and 21° C and 26.5° C in the summer. Underwater visibility is more than 30 meters. Positioned on the eastern border of the Egyptian desert.
